TAGUM CITY—The “No Smoking” sign is up in the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos), a prime tourist destination known for its pristine beaches, prime diving spots and a cave populated by over a million fruit bats in Davao del Norte province.
ISLAND GARDEN CITY OF SAMAL, November 5, 2015 – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) in collaboration with City Health Office, Department of Social Welfare and Development and Local Civil Registrar of Island Garden City of Samal conducted the Philhealth Caravan dubbed as Alaga Ka Program in Samal Gym, Penaplata, Samal District last October 28, 2015.
An official of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 11 disclosed that the construction of the Davao-Samal Bridge will likely start in 2019 with the pre-feasibility study is underway.
DPWH 11 regional director Mariano Alquiza said the Davao-Samal Bridge pre-feasibility study will be approved by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), which then forward to Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for acceptance.
