COVID-19 EXECUTIVE ORDERS
Our President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared March 7, 2017 (Tuesday) a special non-working day in Island Garden City of Samal. The declaration was made by way of a Proclamation No. 154 issued by the President of the Philipines, Malacañan Palace. This is in line with the celebration of the Founding Anniversary of the island's cityhood in order to give the people a full opportunity to celebrate and participate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.
The City Mayor of IGaCoS announced the good news this morning during the LGU's monday convocation. He also posted the copy of the declaration via his facebook account and expressed gratitude to the president since this is the first time that the city being declared holiday on its founding day.

MASA MASID (Mamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamayang Ayaw Sa Iligal na Droga) was formally launched just this morning during the LGU employees monday convocation January 30, 2017 at Samal Cultural Gym.The program was launched as a show of support and commitment to our President Duterte's long fight against Criminalities, Corruptions and most specially Illegal Drugs, Mayor Al David Torres Uy said in his message.The program is using the principle of voluntarism where coordination and support of NGOs,Religious Groups and local officials and employees is really needed in the success of the program.

ISLAND Garden City of Samal – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of the Island Garden City of Samal had launched the Moral Recovery Program (MRP), which aims to create a transformational change among Samaleños, just last January 23 during the convocation at the Samal Cultural Gymnasium.
