SAMAL NEWS | Right at the center stage of Kaputian Beach Park, City Mayor Hon. Al David T. Uy banged the gong marking the official reopening of the said beach park, yesterday, Monday, May 17, 2021 at Brgy. Poblacion, District 3, IGaCoS, together with the City officials and department heads and the local Brgy. officials with resounding applause in the momentous reopening.
Before the official banging of the gong, City Administrator, Atty. Rosemarie B. Garde welcomed everyone who were in the ceremony with words of encouragement, pertaining to the newly constructed projects in the beach park itself such as the hostel within the beach's premise, as legacy to the people of Island Garden City of Samal.
Also, Atty. Garde assured that as to the continuity of the beach park's operations with due preparations, it will be back with better facilities and amenities.
Furthermore, Mayor Uy primarily emphasized how symbolic is the rising again of Kaputian Beach Park to the Island's recovering tourism, given that this is, in fact, intended for Samal residents, so the people has a place to go while retaining the Island's very own open space, at the same time offering excellent accommodation to the tourists residing outside Samal.
"By next month, I think okay na ning atoang hostel. [Which is an] added facility ni siya sa atong beach park. And of course naa pay mga daghang ibutang nato nga mga added infrastracture para mas mugwapo ug makahatag ug serbisyo ning atoang beach park sa atoang mga turista.", Mayor guaranteed.
In addition, Mayor Uy flatten out the setted rules as the beach park is going back to its operations to the public.
"As we open our symbol, there will be rules to follow. No. 1, no booking, no entry; day tour only, 6:00 [AM] to 6:00 [PM]. As to capacity, we will maintain the 70% capacity. Subject to change na sya.", the Mayor stated.
"Balansehon lang nato, ablihon nato ang turismo but we do have some rules to follow.", Mayor Uy firmly added.
Finally, Kaputian Beach Park is now ready to accomodate its tourists beginning today, May 18, 2021, still with its old rate of 10 pesos for Samal residents, however toursits residing outside Samal shall be charged an environmental users fee (EUF) of 30 pesos plus the old rate of 10 pesos. New raise of the entrance fee at 30 pesos is currently for approval in the Provincial Office.
