SAMAL NEWS | Another historic milestone has been achieved by the Local Government of Island Garden City of Samal as it once again proved to be one of the top performing cities in Region XI after being hailed as the "Most Improved LGU Component City" during the regional virtual awarding program of the 2020 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) held last February 2021.
From bagging the awards virtually, Samal City Mayor Al David Uy had officially received the plaques of recognition yesterday, May 3, 2021 at the City Mayor's Office with DTI Davao del Norte Provincial Director Romeo Castañaga leading the turn-over of the plaques.
Among the conferred awards include 2nd Place in Government Efficiency Component City; 3rd Place in Resiliency Component City and the 4th Place in Infrastructure. For the Overall Most Competitive Component City, the LGU Samal bagged the 3rd Place, signifying the efforts of the LGU in pursuing outstanding government service committed to the public.
These rankings were based on the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index 2020, an annual competitiveness ranking of the cities and municipalities in the country which was based on four pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, and resiliency.
The LGU Samal Island would like to express its gratitude to the stakeholders of both the national and local government agencies and offices, private individuals and entities and all who took part in the success of this milestone.
