SAMAL NEWS | A total of 2000 antigen test kits and 1 antigen machine for swab testing to detect COVID-19 infection have been donated by the Ulticon Builders, Inc. through Mrs. Susan Baker, EVP Admin and Mr. Ken Ubaldo, Safety Officer to the local government headed by Mayor Al David T. Uy at CDRRMC Operations Center, Samal District on February 5, 2021.
The diagnostic kits are said to be faster and reliable antigen kits as it can detect the presence of COVID-19 infection within 15 minutes with a 96.7 effectivity rate. The kits work by testing a sample collected from the nasal cavity swab and use Dry Flourescence Immunoassay machine with laser analyzer to detect COVID-19 virus.
Dr. Jose Fuertes, Assistant City Administrator, and other two (2) LGU employees have undergone the painless nasal swab testing with the assistance of Ms. Phoebe Lyn Pacres, medical technologist, and were all tested negative.
