SAMAL NEWS | Samal City opens One-Stop-Shop for business permit renewals
The local government of Samal has now formally opened its annual conduct of Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) for the processing of business permit renewals and applications starting on January 4, 2021 held at Samal City Hall Gymnasium.
Ernesto Tundaan, Division head of Business Regulation Division said that the LGU had maximized the use of technology to speed up the processing of the renewals with its upgraded in-house electronic Business Permit and Licensing System (eBLPS) to promote a no contact and paperless policy especially now that there is an ongoing pandemic. This is in line with the Republic Act No. 11032 also known as Ease of Doing Business Act which aims to fast-tract the system in business permitting and licensing to prevent long queues and to follow the COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
The clients will only undergo three step-transaction which includes (1) interview and assessment, (2) payment and (3) approval and releasing of business permits.
To those who wish to process their business permits may provide the following: (1) for new applications: Barangay Clearance, Cedula (2021), Sketch Map and ID photo of business owner; (2) for renewals: Old Business Permit and Income Tax Return (ITR).
According to Cristituta Mamac, a sari-sari store owner, this year’s processing is much faster compared to the previous years as there are lesser queues of clients due to the faster service and system of the LGU.
As of now, online applications and payments are still not available. To avoid penalties, clients should process the registration and renewals of their business permit on or before January 20, 2021. Every client is subjected to follow the wearing of face masks and to maintain social distancing at all times.
