The Local government of Samal led by City Mayor Al David T. Uy together with the City Veterinarian Dr. Edunel Sala receives a total of ninety-seven (97) goats. The said activity was conducted by the Provincial Agriculture's Office thru the Department of Agriculture (DA) project this morning November 20, 2020, at City Agriculture’s Ground, Brgy. Peñaplata.
Twenty-one (21) members of the Samal Goat Raiser Association received three (3) does or nanny (female goat,) and one (1) buck or billy (male goat) for breeding. Prioritizing those 11 individuals who undergone goat raising seminars.
“Mapasalamaton kaayo ko ani nga programa ug kay Mayor Uy, kay dako kaayo nig tabang sa amoa panginabuhi ilabi na karon na adunay pandemya” Manuel Alegro said, resident of Barangay Anonang, Kaputian District.
“This is one of the DA projects that aim to support the local goat industry for them to be able to produce quality goat products such as meat, milk and cheese. Isa sa atong ginapaningkamotan nga mabalik ang atong goat industry (sa Samal). Kini proyekto ni sa gobyerno para pag-abot sa panahon, kami na sad ang mopalit sa inyo para atong i-export,” said Mayor Uy.
The offspring will be dispersed to newcomer members of the association. Monitoring on the dispersed goat shall be likewise conducted.
